What to Expect from the Blog
2018/03/01 · Photoshoot Advice
Let me first introduce myself and then tell you what I am up to with the blog.
My name is Camilla Myrrha and I am a photographer that specializes in photographing 'everyday' people in the best way, while also providing great service and the ultimate portrait experience (hair + makeup+ styling + gorgeous printed images). I studied photography at Brigham Young University in 2014 and in 2015 I started a Youtube Channel focused on teaching photography, where it now has over 55k subscribers as I am writing this blog post. If you are curious, the channel is called Foto Dicas and it is all in my mother-language, so if you understand Portuguese or just like to hear people talking in a different language, head on over there and subscribe! ;D
The fact of the matter is: I am passionate about teaching others about things I know, and what I know is how to take pretty pictures and MORE THAN THAT: I know how to make anyone look great in front of my lens. This is the beauty of what I do: I get to make people fall in love with themselves (everyone deserves some self love, right?).
This first--and rather awkard--blog post (aren't all first blog posts like this?) is the start of a reocurring attempt to provide useful resources to anyone looking for tips on how to look great in pictures, how to best prepare for your photoshoot, as well as any other recommendations (especially for my local clients in Utah County).
If I could dream out loud--or write out what I envision for the blog (and maybe it will then push me to make it happen--you see, being a busy mom of 3, wife, and small business entrepreneur is no easy task), it is the following:
1- Showcase recent work with behind the scenes, stories, and "How I shot it" segments;
2- Do regular local business owner spotlights (because honestly, you guys rock and I believe there is much to be learned and respected from all you do);
3- Photoshoot advice for clients (lookbook/wardrobe inspiration, hair and makeup tricks, posing tips, etc);
4-Photography tips to photographers (light set-ups, post-production, client care, etc);
Annnnnnnd that's a wrap!
